i would. if i wasnt so stressed out over the outcome of my home and family and welfare.

i doubt it. they're probably tired, irritable and depressed that they had to leave their homes with the realization that they may not be there when they come back. not to mention evacuees from new orleans are already very poor. taking shelter in a college gymnasium is not exactly a meet and greet pot luck dinner party. although, some may find comfort in sharing their personal frustrations with other refugees.

Yes.  My local Red Cross is holding an ice cream social today at noon for the couple thousand that evacuated to my fair city.

Yay!  Free ice cream!

maybe they do they may just want to  support others who never been Thu a major hurricane and try to reassure them and give them some kind of hope

Considering I was part of the mass exodus in Houston for Rita in 2005 I'll give you my experience. Overall it was a very surreal experience. It was eerie at times since our normal freeways were stacked bumper to bumper for hundreds of miles. The overall moral WAS on a more positive side. There was a sense of unity that was pretty cool since that is something you don't experience everyday in mass quantities. You do have your peolple that always B***H simply because they're never satisfied with anything. But always you are worried bout your things but then again whats meant to happen is going to happen and you can't do anything about it. So to answer your question Yes it's kinda cool to meet people and listen to their experiences...you never know what you might learn.

It's a great way to meet men and new potential pets. I saw a beautiful bearded dragon for jili. I will see if I can grab him for her on their way back through!

While some people may enjoy "evacuating" and meeting new people, I would think it a bit embarrassing What with having to change my pants, and perhaps my shirt, I think it not the best time to make new friends.

Note.... Buildings, cities, towns, etc. can be evacuated People can only be evacuated either by an e***a or uncomfortable plastic tubing.
