Yes, if people ingage in online gaming play. Or have a argument they will imitate American accents. Such as Xbox Live or PS3 Online you will find alot of British people imitating American accents and insulting them.

Watch the tevevision show "House". The main character, doctor Gregory House, is a played by Hugh Laurie, a brit. He has such a convincing American accent that I went for more than a year before discovering that it was fake!
