Do people in New Zealand say "G'day" like we do in Aus?

I saw a show called Kiwi Fruit, it's about g*y people in New Zealand and one of the girls said "G'day, I'm a lezzo." Maybe she's the only Aussie in the show and said that so everyone knows she is.

Yes, New Zealanders say "g'day" and "mate", but a lot of younger people, more influenced by American TV than those 30 years of age and above would steadfastly say that it's only an Australian term, then turn around and say "dude" or something equally Yankish.
