Do people in countries like India make a living from diamonds mining?

Child slave labour exists in India.  There is hardly any 'living' that they can make as their employers often keep profit from the markup on the diamonds these children make.  When the children grow older, they pass on their 'debt' to their next generation, perpetuating the slave trade.
