Do people in mma use body weight exercizes or wieghts??

also can you tone your body with body wieght exercizes also getting muscle strenght and endurance?

  1. I'm sure it varies on the fighter. But, two days ago I did nothing but tons of pushups and squats. And I'm still sore from head to toe. The exercises I did are on www.fight-site.com. I think they're under conditioning and Power. They are deffinitley worth looking at. If you just twist your hands certain ways while doing pushups works a whole different array of muscles.

  4. Different fighters use different training methods. I saw an advertisement in an MMA magazine for bodyweight excercise equipment. If you look through enough MMA magazines, you'll see the ad I am referring to. It is a device with a very basic design that allows you to use your own body weight to train (isometric excercise).  Bruce Lee's top student Dan Inosanto has long been a proponent of isometric exercise. It's pretty good for building muscular endurance and you don't get as bulky as if you lift heavy weights.
