  1. No, in Australia there are plenty of people who believe there is only 2 types of music, Country and Western.

  2. it's called country music everywhere even though it comes from the US. some people listen to it but it's not really famous.

  3. Interesting question.  I would venture to guess that country music may be considered our "national" music...just like Gaelic is traditional Irish music.  Some people in America listen to Gaelic music, but it's not common to our national culture.  Just as i'm sure some Irishmen may enjoy country music, but it's probably not on their radio stations.

  4. Country music is popular in the prairie provinces of Canada.

  5. Yes.  American country music is HUGE in Canada...especially Western Canada where they have the Calgary Stampede and tons of rodeos.  A large portion of western/central Canada is called the Prairies, so the farming/cowboy lifestyle is almost identical to that of the US...therefore, they can relate.

  6. Eew not if their smart, who wants to listen to someone whine about losing their man, their car, their house, their shoe, etc etc.

And using the word 'like' fifty times in a sentence makes anyone sound stupid.

  7. Well, my French friends actually listen to American country music.  But, other countries have their own versions of country music. Like Mexico, for example, has these very emotional songs that when you read the words sound a lot like our country music song themes.

  8. People in THIS country don't listen to country music.  Just look at the Country music charts.
