Many people say they can't stop watching some films, what is the appeal, for them, in watching the film, again, if the scenes and plots are actually becoming repetitive?

  1. every time you watch a film especially a really good one you can pick up on things you never really noticed before more of the scenery, how the film maker cut scenes, the lighting effects the music, more in depth understanding of a character after you've watched them a few times and can applaud how well the actor was able to establish this so well! Not all movies are like this though. so not necessarily.

  2. for me, there are a lot of shows that are so good that i just have the urge to watch them again. and in fact, when i actually watch then all over again, i actually dont get sick of the movie. i think it's because the story/plot is just too good. it's the same for a book, sometimes you read books twice dont you....?

  3. i would have to say that a person can learn something from a movie each time he or she watches it.

like if you watch a movie once you miss stuff.

if you watch it a second time you catch something that you missed. and so on and so forth.

i think that it helps to watch a movie a couple of times so that you can see the plot and try to figure out what the motives are and how big of a twist there is.

  4. Movies I like I watch MULTIPLE times.. that's justme

I actually have a "problem" where I can hardly make myself watch a new movie... I think I have a fear of being dissapointed, not liking it, or it turning out to be alot trashier than I thought it would be. (Like Saturday Night Fever... felt like I needed a shower after that one.. UGH..)

Anyway, there's alot of benefit of watching a movie at least twice, if it's good enough to interest you.  You catch SO much more...

Any good movie is worth watching at least twice.

Possibly you just don't watch "deep" enough movies??

  5. Yes they can learn something, but that docent mean they actually do

  6. Well, it is true that it is repetitive. But sometimes, certain scenes come alive in a different way when you watch it again (or again and again). For example, in a feel good/love story, you may feel another emotion when you watch it again, perhaps a dialogue strikes you harder or in a new way that you didn't notice the previous time around. For certain "deep" movies, a specific scene may catch you again or perhaps you understood it because you are more knowledgeable of the issues they were tackling. Of course, there are certain movies that are just that good and worth watching again and again.

For all of these, it's like reading a really good book. When you read it the first time, you're taken into it. The next time, you're blown out of your seat.

You should try it. You'll never know what you'll find out, learn, or understand the second time around (and around and around).
