  1. • In a word no...

Skipping meals throughout the day causes your body to go into an emergency mode and burns fats that have been stored previously. If anything - you'll stay the same or gain weight, depending on what you eat for Iftar and Suhoor.

If however you eat something very light at the time you break fast, it is possible you will lose a little but this unlikely because at Iftar you will be probably be eating more than usual because you're making up for the meals that you've missed during day light hours.

  2. I used to be size 8/10 when i were fasting!  I did not need it loose any weight!

  3. I don't think so, from people I have kow who have fasted they just eat more at night.

  4. well no because they only fast during daylight hours- they eat in evenings and our metabolism is at its weakest in the evenings meaning all eaten wouldnt be metabolised as efficiently as daylight hours hence storing the rest as fat

  5. Yes you can loose weight but some people who do not fast according to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) may gain weight because as soon as it's time to break your fast they eat until they can't eat anymore and you are not suppose to fill you whole stomach.

  6. well no, if your a asian and you fast you know you will eat a lot of things contaning vast ammount of fat and oil like meat, kebabs, etc so if you eat healthy when you fast then yes you can lose wieght but you should not eat too mucch or to less .  you need energy to keep you going throught the day.

  7. It really depends on the individual as some tend to eat alot when they open heir fast and just laze around thus they put weight on. I myself loose just a little or maintain the same weight.

  8. Hey,

Ramadan Mubarak! When we muslims fast we stop eating for a short period of time via from dawn till dusk. After we have fatur we will go on eating so many deserts and stuff which will increase our glucose that is present in our body which by turn will change into fat.

    Have a great Ramadan!

    Mohammed

  9. They still eat 2 meals at night, one in the evening and another before dawn so if they usually eat three meals they're only actually missing one meal. I think it depends on the individual and what they eat whether or not they lose weight. Some will some won't

  10. Well if you eat sensibly yes I think people would definitely loose weight. But most of them dont eat sensibly. We are eating more normal stuff this year as I have to think about my budget but also for health reasons. I love having fruit when i open the fast. I hate having loads of fried foods every single day for a whole month. Can you imagine what thats doing to your body?

The feast is at the end of Ramadan. That's Eid and thats when we have loads of food and enjoy.

I think thats the sensible way and you would surely loose weight.

I'll let you know how much I have lost at the end.

  11. So far I haven't. I think because you eat late and if you are like me, most likely will not do much exercise to work it off before bedtime, so it just sits there. Adds up after a few weeks. :-/

  12. Who cares!

  13. Hi there.

Kerri is essentially correct, on average you would gain some weight over Ramadan - not just because of the late eating, but also because it is a time of celebration and generosity to all, so there are loads of goodies to be had at mealtimes and plenty for all.

    Cheers, Steve.

  14. i'm fat and i don't care about my health .and i love food so much and i don't like salads.

  15. I have lost 5lbs in 2 days, when I break my fast I don't eat much.  I think it will make my stomach hurt.  I also drink so much water I don't have much food.  For me it is a yes I have lost weight during Ramadan.

  16. I never lose weight during ramadan

    infact i put on weight

in ramadan we always cook special food that we dont usually cook on normal days,

we make so many deep fried snacks such as samosa, pakora etc.

and because we get so hungry during the day, and when its time to eat, no one eats the salad.

who would opt for a salad when they been starving all day? we want delicious fattening food. not salad.
