  1. To teach at a studio, not necessarily, although someone who does have those credentials may be preferred over someone who doesn't have them.  To teach at a school or college, yes, they need a degree.

  2. I think that depends on the studio. If it's a very rigorous one where dancers are preparing for their careers, then a major or minor in dance would be necessary.

Even if it's laid back though, a minor or something in dance makes you seem more credible, but probably isn't necessary.

  3. never heard of that, you just need the moves and rythym

  4. at more prestigious dance studios, yes. Most places no, you just need tons of experience and you typically audition and display a vast knowledge and talent for a wide variety of types of dance. Even if a place doesn't require it, a degree always looks good on a resume and almost always increases your salary. Good luck!

  5. i'm not sure

  6. Having initials behind your name on a glass door would certainly look professional, but it is possible to teach private dance lessons without an actual degree.  You have to have some sort of qualification though, otherwise, how do you get students to come to your class?  Take what you have and work on that.  Absolutely no degree, certificates, or documented training is going to be a severe hindrance in getting students.  Sorry but good luck.
