  1. You need His Son!!  (Acts 4:10-12, and Romans 10:9-13).  Pure Religion:  James 1:27.

  2. No. Jesus went against religion when He went up against the Pharisees. That's what that was all about. He told them they were doing it all wrong, and going by their rules and regulations, and not God's.  He told us about a personal relationship, not a religion. Anyone can accept Jesus into their heart. You don't have to belong to any church group to do that.

  3. As long as you keep relationship with him their should no need for religion

  4. Not at all, many people love God but hate what the churches have done to religion.

  5. The meaning of Christian is a relationship with God, because we are part of Christ .that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me.

I have given them the glory that You gave me, that they may be one as We are one:

I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.

"Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, and to see My glory, the glory You have given Me because You loved Me before the creation of the world.

"Righteous Father, though the world does not know You, I know You, and they know that You have sent me.

I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

  6. No one comes to know about God through any other source than religion. Religions are to make awareness in people about God and his ways. There are no other institutions that teach about matters related to God. So, it is necessary for one to follow a religion. But, everything that the religion teaches may not be true. We have to process everything in our mind in order to come to right and wrong.

  7. I don't think so.

  8. A religion is not necessary, but it makes some things a lot easier. Religions are like schools.  Each one has a standard, published curriculum, so you know what you're getting. Each one has figured out what is important to them, and they will tell you.  This makes it easier for you to find a teaching program that meets your needs.

But if you have enough time, you can certainly figure stuff out, and worship God, all by yourself.  It's just going to take an awful lot of work!

  9. Well, if you believe in the Christian god, you're de facto a member of Christianity, whether or not you go to church and say your prayers.

  10. Humans are pack animals.

Take away religion and they will find some other way to pack up.

  11. No.

  12. Is religion necessary in order to have a relationship with and be closer to God?

    NO!

  13. Absolutely not.

Religion is for people who are afraid of going to h**l.

Spirituality is for people who have already been there.

Is one of my favorite quotes and it's true.  You'll find most spiritual peoples beliefs are stronger and they seem to share a closer connection to god than those who are extremely religious.

  14. I suppose by religion you mean organized religion? If so, no. It is not necessary.

I followed religion for over 40 years before I realized I didn't need it. I never believed the Bible told the whole truth and still don't. To me it is a good guide but I don't take much of it literally. I feel I can be close to god, nature or whatever the ultimate power of the universe is without knowing a book that was written by man claiming to be god inspired.

  15. if you believe in a god it means you have religion.  it just may not be an organized religion

  16. Read the Holy Bible, pray and ask him to help you understand it. Go to a bible based church. God says for us to go to church.

  17. Religion as in ritual... NO... in fact God hates religion and false worship because it is not true.

Faith and belief... YES... Especially when it comes from the heart in an open and honest way.

  18. No. Trust in God. He will lead you.

  19. Any good psychologist worth his/her beans will tell you that children need structure.
