  1. First: what does religion have to do with eating food that has animal (not human) blood?

Second: yes, amny European cuisines feature blood sausages. There are also special recipes that use blood for thickening the gravy.

If you eat the flesh of the animal, what's wrong with cooking the blood? It is rich in protein and other nutrients.

  2. When God allowed men to eat animal flesh he added, “But flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.” (Genesis 9:4) The Jewish law prohibited eating blood. “For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.” (Leviticus 17:14) (Kosher meat requires that the animal be slaughtered in such a way as to get the most blood out, and then is salted to get even more blood out.) When there was a question in the New Testament church about what parts of the Law of Moses should be required of non-Jewish members, the apostles made the following statement. “For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.” (Acts 15:28-29) The prohibition against eating blood had been repeated in all biblical times since God first allowed man to eat meat.

In many countries, including Germany and a number of African countries, some people eat cooked blood in various forms (pudding, sausage). It would appear that anyone following the God of the Bible would avoid doing so if possible.
