  1. no the rules are the same whether you play online or on a board but some countrys play diffrently than other countries

Strategy is a little bit different when playing a comp.  Computers never miss tatics that are within their moves a head limit (I usually set it at around 8) so you can not hope to out tatic a computer.  Instead you have to play much more logically and less creatively if you want to win.  Gary Kasparov was the best human vs comp player ever.

  3. If they are good, yes.  Computers are for trying weird c**p they not pull on humans.

  4. While the rules are the same, your strategy might have to be different, since the computer is usually much more logical than a human opponent, and does not miss opportunities.
