When they pay hundreds of dollars for hotel rooms in a COUNTRY WHERE A BIG PERCENTAGE OF THE POPULATION LIVE IN POVERTY?

The average salary in Buenos Aires is about 400 U$S a month.

Do most know they can also rent luxury flats for much less than what they pay for in an international hotel chain?

  1. Looking at it from a marketing perspective... luxuary items/services only have one stablished price through out the world. You will rarely see luxuary items/services priced different depending the country they are in.

example: an LV bag will cost you the same in Paris, Buenos Aires, tokyo, or New Delhi. (the customer is always the same , the country's economy does not affect the price.

hope this helps understand the reason why hotel chains charge the same .......

    regards...

  2. never. i guess we have to be more aware. like reading some consumer, guest reviews, experiences, forums etc. there are lots of sites like traveltips101.ning.com, community.luxurylink.com etc that will help you know more about hotels and places
