Do people really make money selling on Ebay???

Question

Ok this question just goes to Ebay sellers.So if you have never experienced selling on Ebay dont even bother answering.Thank You.Please state an average of what you made a wk,and type of product you were selling,not specifically I just want to get an idea for the hot market!

Hiya, I regularly sell on Ebay and I make around £300 a month. But again like the above answer, I do this as a hobby. I mainly sell hand made jewellery, and I do not have a shop. All my items are auction format. The key lies in the title, there are a lot of ways on ebay whereby you can check the most popular search terms. You can use this to your advantage to drive your sales.

But ya, the more time and energy you put into it, the more likely it is that you will make more money... I currently spend about 4 hours a week on listing my items (i.e writing descriptions, taking good photos, and writing effective search titles). When the auctions end, I spend another 2 hours or so a week posting and packaging.

Yes, my aunt does it ALL the time .She has lodes of money now that  they got money from e-bay. They bought a lap top a huge in ground pool and lots more just by selling little nicknack's she found around the house such as this 3 year old lamp.and other stuff you should try it!!!!!!PS:(i have made pretty good money too)Just to let you know.!!!!!!!

I have found that ebay is a better place to buy below retail than try and sell close to or match retail.

ebayer's are sophisticated buyers. They know how to shop the net.

Unless you have a hot product and high demand or rare collectible, tough to get top dollar for anything else. If you can produce something for little costs, that might be another avenue.

If you can acquire things where their is general public interest at 30-50% retail including shipping, and you can factor ebay fees, pay pal fees, and still make money, then that might be an idea.

Some people do make a living off ebay. many have existing businesses , existing contacts, existing suppliers, they have large inventories and buy in volume at a discount.

I have a very small store where I sell Dune Buggy Parts. I really depends on how many auctions I run at any given time what I sell. I rarely sell anything from my Ebay store, but when I use the auction format I sell about 50% of my items. My best month I made an extra $500.00 in profit. On average I make about $100 to $200 a month.

Keep in mind that I only do ebay as a hobby as I already have a regular income.

It boils down to how hard you want to make the business successful. If you can devote a lot of time and energy into doing the business then you can become successful at it.
