Do people really think colored contacts are tacky?

Question

I have dark brown eyes and I got colored prescription contacts,It is hazelish greenish.My skin color looks like a mixed person Like sorta tannish,but not that dark I have dark hair,and I straighten It.I really love my contacts,but I only wear them at parties and stuff and sometimes at school,they don't look natural or too fake.IDK.I think they look nice.and My friends and other people haven't seen them yet.I am bullied about my appearance,and I am going to high school next year.so I am sorta worried lol.I appereciate you opinions.

I don't think so. I have hazel eyes and right now I have blue contacts in and in contrast with my hazel eyes they are a dark blue so they stick out like a sore thumb. Usually my eyes look brown, sometimes they turn green and very rarely a blue on the outside. I need to get some contacts like yours where it looks like it is natural because they actually do change to green...I need kind of a greenish brown. I don't think that colored contacts are tacky. You just need to get some that go with your skin tone\complexion...if you already have that then I'd say don't worry about it. I can't see what you look like with the contacts in so I can't really give you my honest opinion. I definately need to get a different color though.

i think you should be happy with your natural eye color. but you could get close to your natural color, like if you have brown eyes and got hazel it might look natural. i like wacky colors like bright turquoise and gold and red and purple.

i have blue colored contacts on my dark dark brown eyes, and they look SO fake, but i like them alot and people still ask my if there real, so they probably look good, and no, people think they look really cool

I wear them a lot!  If you have the ones that are more natural looking, people can't usually tell that they are fake and that is how i do it.  But usually people can't tell a huge difference between the fake and real, so you will probably be fine.  Some of the crazy weird ones can be considered tacky, but the ones that are relatively normal eye colors are not.

i dont think its tacky, its a nice way to switch your appearance from time to time, the same way people change their hair color.

If you're really worried, just don't wear them until you're comfortable with some friends in high school. If you get bullied, you don't want to stand out for something else as well, just wait until you've got some friends and people will probably think it's cool.

I think they look good if they suit you (ie if they could be your natural colour) which is sounds like yours do. I don't like them if it's really obvious they're not natural (like an Asian person with blue eyes or the purple eye ones).

Personally, I'd love to see what I look like with blue eyes and will hopefully get around to getting some contacts one day.
