Question:

Do people really think that Michael Bisping actually has a chance against Anderson Silva?

Please don't give me the generic answer: "anybody has a chance against anybody". If there wasn't a fluke, how can Bisping beat Silva? Remember that even Dan Henderson can't beat Silva. How in the world can Bisping beat him?

  1. Yes, he has a chance. The stand up match favors Silva by only a slight margin. The difference would be the ground. If Bisping can spend most of the fight on his feet, and stays busy, and if Silva underestimates Bisping, he could win on points or get lucky and score a KO.

  2. anything can happen but anderson silva is in his own league right now

  3. Silva has great jujitsu and is a world class striker (with long arms and legs) for Bisping to even have a chance, he'd have to get inside......do you really want to get inside and fight the Spider, no.

If he's lucky, Bisping won't get submitted until early in the second.  (but it will happen)

  4. I think it would be an interesting fight.  I think Bisping would have a size advantage that could lead to some interesting exchanges.  Silva is far too skilled, though.  I think Bisping would walk into a submission rather quickly

  5. Bisping would get destroyed by silva

Bisping wouldn't beat rich franklin for crying out loud.

Bisping lost to "sugar bear" rashaad evans boring a$$

  6. i think Bisping dropping down a weight class was an excellent idea for him

hes used to pushing around bigger guys now that hes dropped down he stands a semi chance

    Silva's weakness is wrestling

this is something Bisping can use against him

Bisping also uses extremely good knees with Silva does also

i don't think he will pull out a win, but it will make for a very exciting fight if he can use Silva's weakness and i wouldnt be surprised to see a 3rd round with at least one round going to Bisping

  7. I think it will a great fight but I don't think Bisping has what it takes to beat Silva on the ground or on their feet.Silva is just to good right now.

  8. bisping is like a new fighter at middleweight he could knock him out if he catches him but i doubt that silvas too fast and could get him in a submission.but remember no one thought serra would beat gsp

  9. First round KO, Bisping goes down.

If Matt Hammill could land shots regularly on Bisping, as clumsy as his striking is, think of what the Spider will do to him.

There is nothing that Bisping has in arsenal that can give him an advantage of Silva. Anderson Silva is a world class striker, no edge there. Silva is a BB in BJJ, Bisping is solid, but on the ground or standing Silva is better than him.

    Just my take

Seriously where has it been announced that they are fighting? As far as I know Bisping is fighting Jason Day at UFC 85. Far way off before Bisping gets a shot at Silva, he needs to fight a Franklin, Marquardt, or Henderson first.

  10. Bisbing is actually a bad A** himself to tell you the truth.  Plus this fight is in his home town I don't see him losing infront of home town fans,  this is Bisbings time to shine it kind a make or break for him.  It was kind like it was when Rampage beat Chuck Liddell (curses I like Chuck) He is a Superstar now!

  11. Although i do like Bisping, i think Silva will finish him off with a submission before he can do any damage.

  12. Bisping most likely will not beat Silva, people can think what they want to think. Silva is just too good right now. He will have the belt for some time.

  13. Silva wins by  knock out.

here's a better question, who can beat Anderson Silva?

  14. I d think so, i do think that Anderson Silva is beatable, i do think Michael Bisping CAN beat The Spider, but it will be very difficult.

All Bisping has to do is stay methodical and change pace.

He could take Silva down, ground and pound him, just like Hendo did, but Hendo made a mistake in the 2nd round by trading with Silva and eventually got submitted, Hendo actually won the first round, Bisping has to learn from this past mistakes from Silva's past victims. Travis Lutter had Silva on a mount and was teeing-off Silva's face in the ground and was literally about 5 clean punches away from being stopped. But again Lutter made a very stupid mistake by attempting a very poor, sloppy armbar from the top as if Anderson Silva wasn't a jiujitsu black belt. Marquardt also succeeded in taking Silva down but again Marquardt committed a mistake in which he was caught off-guard and Silva was able to transition Marquardt into the ground.

I totally disagree with judomofo, i'm not a Bisping fanatic but i know Bisping has a good, half-great arsenal, i agree SpiderSilva is a middleweight monster with great skill but he has holes in his game and Bisping has the right but un-cultivated tools and skill to exploit that. SpiderSilva seemed unstoppable because he is very smart, and may be the the smartest, clean, smoothest fighter in the UFC.

Bisping can win this bout, if he can execute his gameplan well, Bisping has a great chin which can help him shrug off some SpiderBombs, Silva has a clear edge with his submissions and striking, Silva can win this 99fights over a hundred but Bisping is no ordinary joe. An upset may be in order.

  15. Bisping can suck my nutts.  He is the most overrated m**o in the whole UFC.  What a freaking p***y.  He totally got destroyed by Matt Hamil and he has not beaten any good fighters.  He even lost to the other most overrated fighter in rashad evans.  This man is a joke and will not beat any good fighter in the UFC.  I cant wait untill he fights anybody good.  I cant even beleive you asked this question....he wont even make it far enought to even get a fight vs Silva.
