yes they do. they also know how to insert a tampon. very smart people if you ask me. they are not dumb what so ever. i absolutly hate when people call other people with down syndrome retarded. im sorry, im just expressing myself but yes, they do have periods just like other normal people other than themselves just without the condition.

Downs syndrom occurs when an extra cromosome is present.. How in the world would that effect menstration?

Yes they do , sad story but thats how a friend of mine found out her daughter was raped... She tracked her daughters period so she knew when to put a pad on her , and then one month she didnt get her period , and she took her to the doctors to find out what was wrong with her and the doctor ran a bunch of test on her and the HCG level came up pregnant .....  but of course she didn't allow her daughter to carry the baby ( she was only 8 weeks pregnant ) but was able to get DNA from the cells of the baby to get the man arrested ...My friends daughter doesn't have a short-term memory ...so  Her daughter doesn't even remember she was ever pregnant or being raped , thank god ..

Yes. Funny story actually.

Last year, I was in a class called "Circle of Friends", where you work with the disabled kids. It's a really awesome experience. And I was paired with a really cool girl with down syndrome. One day, I was alone with her because the teacher left the room for awhile. And the girl got her period and I had to help her, it was really awkward.

Then, I was paired with a different girl with down syndrome, and she was not listening to me at all, I don't think she liked me. It was during gym for her and she had to change. After gym, she took off all of her clothes and she was on her period and would not let anyone touch her. It was weird.
