Do people think acting shy is rude?

I think some people can take shyness as rudeness.  When your shy there is no interaction and it seems like you may be ignoring people.  When you say hi and how's it going people just think your friendly.

If you are acting shy, then that is rude. If you are actually shy, then they are just difficult people. I am shy, and some people think I am rude or stuck up. But I really have nothing to say, or can't think of anything to say. Sometimes a simple "hello" don't work for some people. I don't let get to me. Let them think what they want.

It just depends, if your shy but pleasant that's one thing but if you are shy with a mean demeanor, people say hi you barely speak yes that can seem rude!

Acting shy isn't a factor, no. It can be a sign of weakness in some cases, however, but many people are shy out there, (especially when it comes to a girl/guy - dependent on the person).
