Do people think the royal family should rule Britain instead of the government?

You only need to look at Gordon Brown! I think people have a point when they say 'the government is all the same' However, the royal family have something which has been lost in our society- British pride. They would have our best interests at heart. I don't understand people that want to abolish them. Sometimes change isn't always a good thing, so maybe we should go back to having a monarch in power.

In general I'd say no, but the way the system has been so perverted I think it would be a good idea.

Of course the royal family has British pride.  If the government was giving you money to smile and wave and occasionally knight a dude, you'd hoist the Union Jack and hum God Save the Queen in your sleep.

That doesn't mean they'd be any good at bureaucracy.  They have people for that.

no, the world has changed so much from when their was no government, the old kings and queens didn't have to do taxcuts, health insurance and free childcare hours. so it wouldn't be a good idea to pin it all on 1 family.

And if you changed to a monarchy the Americans would invade you and call it the justice system.

Actually I do.  The royal family have all been raised to love England - something our government clearly do not.  I reckon we will be a lot better off with the royals.

Why would you cede your power to a king and queen?

Then again, liberals want us Americans on the other side of the pond to surrender our rights to left wing elites "who know what's best for the average American"

So you would rather entrust government to some random individual who happened to win the sperm lottery instead of the collective wisdom the British population? Why should anyone have pride in a country when you can't even trust the British populance to make rational informed decisions?

The idea that monarchs should rule Britain in this day and age is really freaking stupid.
