I see them blaming illegal for gas prices and even the foreclosures due to the risking lending practices. Do people really believe that or are illegals just convenient scapegoats?

  1. convenient scapegoats

  2. the illegals get blamed for everything!

  3. Yes,all prices are higher due to illegals. Bigger demand=higher prices.

  4. Illegal aliens are responsible for many of our current economic ills, including the collapse of the housing market, excessive taxes, overcrowding in school, bankrupt hospitals, excessive uninsured car accidents, outbreaks of disease, lowered immigration quotas for legal immigrants, the backup of immigration paperwork, overcrowded prisons, etc-- but I have yet to see anyone but you blame them for the price of gas.

  5. Yes illegals are responsible for high gas prices if they stayed in Mexico their would be 12 million less cars on the road.

this would lower the demand for oil

  6. Nobody is blaming illegals for gas prices or foreclosures. If all you live for is to bash America at least do your homework and find something valid.

There are plenty of things illegals are responsible for.

Just making c**p up is lazy

  7. This country wants to blame everything on undocumented, terrorism? taking their jobs? taxes? (in which they do pay!)crime? drugs? not speaking english? what else can americans make up to make excuses for this government?

  8. Those don't sound like reasons.   But I did hear a financial analyst say last night that if the Enron loophole was closed so that oil speculation was not allowed, he estimates the price of gas would go down by 50%.

  9. convenient scapegoat.....that's a BIG SI  (YES!!)

Some have even said "if we get rid of the illegals, that'll be less people driving, that's less gas consumption, and that'll lower our gas prices"......... TOO FUNNY!

    What next? the WAR!

Hey! Cableguy L, he's not bashing on anybody. These have been topics on here.

  10. Yes, gas prices are high due to increased worldwide demand for oil. I believe that the US would not need to import so much oil if we deported the 20 million illegal aliens in our country. If the illegals went back to their home countries, worldwide demand for oil would decrease, and so would the price of gasoline.

Just think how much energy the 20 million illegal aliens use in our country? It must be a huge amount. We would be better off paying higher wages to American workers and using machines to do the other jobs that illegal aliens are now doing.

  11. Because immigrants are convenient excuse for everything. They always have been. It’s just as baseless now as always. The fact is increased demand is only a minor factor influencing the current price of oil. In other words, demand is not up 500% from six years ago nor have supplies diminished by 80%.

Further, many illegal aliens are too poor to own vehicles and often rely on public transportation. Per capita, by necessity they consume less of the given commodity than naturalized citizens.

This has to be one of the more amusing Hispanophobic arguments I’ve read.

  12. The fact is they need to get deported. So if people are blaming them for gas prices, nice.

  13. I have read the statements .. yes deport 20 million illegal so there would be less cars on US roads & world wide demand of oil would be less.

I couldnt stop laughing, do you think that those 20 million will ride donkeys back home? are u guys so naive to think that cars & demand of oil only exist in USA? & Rest of world is still using donkey carts?

Wake up .. rather grow up & get a life. Fuel is used equally by each country, no illegals have nothing to do with high demand. The consumption may be same no matter where the humans would be, legal or illegal.

Fuel prices are going up only because US$ is going down & Oil is linked to US$. Make Oil trade independence of currency & see how cheap it would get.

( I am an EU Citizen & living in European Union, before u start yelling me thinking I am an illegal Mexican supporting them.)

  14. It raises the price. Bigger demand=higher price.

  15. How are illegals and gas tied together?

  16. THE TRUTH IS

Most Americans lack a proper education in the following fields:

    - finance

    - macroeconomy

    - energy economics

  17. Do you really think that the gasoline, electricity, natural gas, fresh water, etc that 12-20 million people use have no bearing on the price of those commodities?

The demand (this is the part that illegals effect) can a dramatic influence on price with only a 5-10% change when we are talking about limited supply side commodities.

If all illegals left tomorrow the price for all of these things would drop within weeks.  Along with our taxes!
