  1. I have a few coins in my ashtray in case I have no change for car park or a payphone. I never leave money on display though. that's asking for trouble.

  2. It's likely that many people do. Those I know always have loose change and a few dollars to use for tolls or fast food. I think you'd have to be the luckiest person on earth to break into a car and find oodles of money. But then, you'd end up in prison, so I guess that wouldn't be lucky after all.

  3. It is very common practice to leave money for parking costs, road tolls, toilet access and the like, within reach of the driver in the front of the car.

Car thieves and drug addicts looking for the price of a fix, are well aware of this. This is why there are so many petty thefts from cars.

  4. Just a little bit of spare change in mine. But I know some people who keep a lot in their glove compartments and I tell them that is stupid.

  5. Where I grew up we left the keys in too just in case a neighbor had to use it in a hurry.

  6. Yes, they do and especially do they keep "small change" for parking fees and tolls, etc.
