Do people usually have a baby shower for a second child?

I recently found out I was pregnant with my second child, and I have very few items left from my daughter who is now about to turn 3. My sister says that it would be wrong for me to have a shower for this baby. So I was wondering your opinion on this topic. Do most people have a shower for their second child or would I look greedy asking to have another one?

No hun, I would go ahead and have another baby shower. It' been almost 3 years since u had ur last baby. I would go ahead. And no that doesn't make u a greedy person. So do it.

why wrong this is not true many pplz do baby shower for every child its not a custom or tradition that u can not have a baby shower after had 1 for ur baby so its really up to u u can celebrate baby shower for ur kid #2 or 3 or 4 .....

it's really not normal to have a second shower.  i don't mean to be rude, but yes... it would look very greedy.  sorry.  good luck

they used to say no.. but modern society says yes. I had twins with my first and a very small baby shower with them. They are 3 years old.. I am 17 weeks pregnant and plan on having a baby shower for this one. My mom is throwing it.. Its wrong to throw it yourself but not wrong by no means if someone wants to throw it. I still have a lot of stuff from my twins (girls) so if this baby is also a girl i wont need to much but if its a boy i have nothing really. Regardless a baby shower is also to celebrate the baby and why is the second not as important to celebrate the first.. thats the way i feel.. go for it girl!

my son is three and my family and my baby's father's family family WANTS to give me a shower, plus i could really use the stuff and no it's not greedy b/c if people did not want to do it they wouldn't come to the shower.

Every baby deserves a shower! Especially if it is the opposite s*x of your first. Even if it's not it's okay to have as many as you want!

I never had baby showers.  I feel if someone wants to buy my baby something, when and what is up to them.

Yes!  Some people even have multiple baby showers for one child.  They may have one at work and one with the family, and another with the significant other's family.  It is all up to you!  If you are worried about how it will look, which you shouldn't, maybe you should have a "Sprinkle Shower" which is where the guests sprinkle you with small items/necessities you need for another child.  It is especially for a mommy-to-be who already has children.  Personally, I had 3 baby showers, for two pregnancies!
