  1. Well a lot of bipolar individuals had it rough as children, and their coping skills are not the greatest.  Many tend to self-medicate with whatever drug is handy, from sugar cookies to smack and anything in between................

  2. Jennifer,

I say this with all love. Borderline Personality Disorder is the least of your worries.  Whether or not your husband has 1 or more mental illnesses is irrelevant because he is a selfish and generally bad person.  I have read your resolved questions going back a year and a half; wow, you need to leave.

Your husband is a mental and emotional abuser and it has clearly taken a toll on your child.

The innocent yet apathetic way you look at the f'd up things going on in your household leads me to believe you were abused as a child because you have no barometer for normalcy.

Get help and get out before you do irreparable damage to your child.  Four-year-olds do not ask about s*x.  Are you sure this creep isn't molesting her?

I hate to have to be the one to break it to you this way but I am seriously concerned for your little girl.

I had a mother that chose to bury her head in the sand about all the abuses perpetrated by my father during adolescence and to this day I find it incredulous that she did that to me.

Don't be that kind of mom, or prepare for your daughter to hate you.  Maybe you think that will be ok as long as you are validated by your husband, but he clearly thinks you're a joke.  If you get a job and a divorce someday you will look back on this part of your life and wonder why you stayed so long.

  3. BPD Is a broad categorical term and to be classified as BPD you just need to show symptoms of that type of illness, you could have a wide range of symptoms or just a few.

  4. i gues they could,

    but they dont have to,

  5. Hi there,

they can do! but some people  don't !!!  :)

  6. BPDs show symptoms of all kinds of disorders. It's part of the illness, and also a reason reason why it's so often misdiagnosed. People with BPD can go around for years and not be diagnosed correctly. I know this; I ran around for 20 years and no one could tell me me what was wrong. I was treated for schizophrenia, depression, bipolar, and was even told one time I was a psychopath!

One has to sort out the BPD before one can diagnose another disorder.

  7. Personality Disorders are categorised by symptoms. There are 3 groups of personality types- these are called Clusters.

In Cluster A there are Paranoid,Schizoid, Schizotypal.

In Custer B there are Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic, Narcissistic.

In Cluster C there are Avoidant, Dependant, Obsessive-Compulsive.

It is common for someone to have personality traits from many of the disorders usually from the same Cluster, this does not mean they have a disorder- probably just a few issues they should work on to improve their life.

It is possible to be diagnosed with more than one Personality Disorder or Mixed Personality Disorder, this usually means that the person does not meet the full diagnostic criteria for a diagnosis but has significant function impairment in a number of areas.

  8. people with BPD can have other personality disorders - like a narcissistic (self-centered) personality
