Do petco and petsmart have good parakeets? ?

i was thinking of buying some from there, because the birds all look so happy and playful. always have good water and food. whats your eperience?

If they look healthy and playful, and they seem to be well fed and their cage looks clean, then sure!

NO..Not Pet Smart or Pet Co..they purchase birds from large bird farms and not from local breeders.

Check around find rescue that you can adopt or a small local breeder

or a smaller pet shop

Be careful when by from larger pet stores they my be clean but, the breeder the birds come from may not.Pet Smart just had this problem

they do have good ones, but they are wild and hard to tame.  If you want more interactive parakeets, get a handtamed one from a breeder.
