Question:

Do petstores usually keep pregnant gerbils?

like in the back where they keep the other stocks?? i know that they don't breed them but if one is like noticably pregnant, do they put them with the others? i was going to try to get one, do you think i can from a moderate sized petstore??

  1. Some of them do carry pregnant gerbils..i would get a pregnant hamster instead tho.

  2. I'm sorry but they usually don't. maybe if you go on craigs list you can find it. Or you could ask for a pregnant gerbil in PetSmart or PetCO.

My fiance was a manager at a PetSuperMarket and I would help them with the animal shipping etc.  Although the PetSuperMarket he worked at did not carry gerbils... they carried hamsters and on many occassions they would separate the pregnant hamsters and put them into 10 gallon tanks to have their babies. My fiance's store was not allowed to sell the pregnant hamsters until after they had their babies.  So you might just have to get two gerbils and hope that one is a boy and one is a girl if you wish to breed them.  But all store policies are different!
