Do physicals at the doctor's office include drug testing?

Yeah, I had some bud and I'm going to have a physical, should I worry about detox?

only if the physical is for your job or school.

depends what ur going for...they may do a blood test but i dont think they always check for drugs..if the physical is for a job they will do a drug test...

It depends on why you are having the physical.

When I had a physical for immigration purposes in the early 90's, they tested for drugs (among other things).

However, when I go to the doctor for my yearly physical, he doesnt check for drugs because there is not reason for him to.  If I used drugs, I would know that, so it does not make sense to tell me what I already know (not that I am that stupid).

Also, if you go for a physical for employment purposes, I am certain that they will be checking for drugs.

Unless the physical is part of a pre-employment exam that specifically calls for a drug screen, physical exams typically do not involve drug testing.
