Do pimienta peppers need a mate to bloom?

i bought this pepper plant and it has yet to bloom. someone told me that this type of pepper needs a mate to bloom. is this true?

Answer 1

Not true.  Peppers are not "sexed" plants (male and female flowers on separate plants).

You only need one plant to have flowers and fruit.
