   Yes, but Pioneer Elite will be better.

Look for any reciever that has a built in Furoudija or even better Reon scaler chip inside.  Both do a great job of processing video and giving you a sharper picture quality.  Most recievers in the 300-1000 range have furoudija and the costlier ones have Reon.

Pioneer is a very good company. I have an old Pioneer turntable, and it still works great. Their receivers should have a good processor built in them.
