Do planes..?

Question

Fly mostly over water? I'm flying to San Francisco soon from Atlanta, Georgia. So I was wondering if it would go across the U.S. Or go around the land, and over to California.

i have flown from atlanta to san fran and you will go over land.  it's pretty cool when you fly over the desert!!!

that flight will mostly be over land.  It depends on their flight plans and where they are flying.  But your flight should mostly be over land!

Flying over water isn't scary at all.  pretty beautiful actually.

It would go over land.  Most planes try to take the most direct route, and it would be out of their way to go over the ocean from those places.

The San Francisco Airport sticks out into the Bay.

In many cases, the last few minutes of the flight

are over water ... you look out the window ...

water... water .... water .....

and then all of sudden you feel the wheels touch down,

and you ask ... hey where did this land come from ?

The other 99% of the flight will be over land.

Watch for the Mississippi River,

the Rocky Mountains, and possibly Glen Canyon Dam (and lake) and the Grand Canyon.

but seriously, your safer over water.

with all the life jackets and stuff on there,

your deffinatly safer pluging into water

than hittting smack right into..land.

you ll fly over land.

now when you take of from LAX if you are. You ll fly over water for like 20 min
