  1. No they must obtain the sugars from photosynthesis.


  2. All green plants make glucose, a simple sugar during photosynthesis. They later make other sugars and starch made from sugars and also proteins and fats.

  3. Yes. They are the only source that I m aware of:

    Corn [white lightnin'], wheat [whiskey], rice [saki], potato [vodka], cactus [tequila] etc.
