  1. I believe that all living things have "energy"  I heard of an experiment once in which two identical plants were looked after by the same person.  One of the plants recieved a lot of care and love.  The second was looked at with hate and disgust.  In the end, the plant that received love and care flourished, while the second, which was hated, despite giving it sunlight and water, perished.  Coincidence?  Worthy of an experiment.

  2. There are biological reactions in plants when there is damage done.  Phytohormones flood the injured area and callouses form (if the damage isn't so bad that it kills the organism).  They don't feel pain the way that we define it because there is a lack of a known nervous system, but there are definite physical reactions when a plant is damaged.
