  1. You ever heard of Monique's Fat Chance? That's a pageant only for women over a size 14, I think.

  2. Miss Lane Bryant 2006

  3. I have friends that are plus size women. They always say that pageants are discriminating against them because they are plus size. They say they would like it if there were more pageants just for women of their size. A friend of mine was in a plus size pageant where they gave a scholarship to the top winner. She didn't win but she came in second place. And she really enjoyed it. She said it made her feel good about herself.

  4. 'Plus size' used to be peopel that were obese, now it's just a UK size 12/14!

When I did some modelling  because I have a normal slim yet curvy figure,  uk size 12/14 I could only do plus size modelling when it comes to clothes. Even though te clothes are for size 18+ they still want the models to be a uk 12/14

  5. That's honestly one of the first smart things I've seen Victoria post here. Congratulations! You should get an "A" for your effort at being sensible.

But in all actuality, most plus size women do have to compete in pageants designed specifically for women their size, for the simple fact that they're not allowed to compete in any of the other pageants. It was told to me that a size 10 to 12 and up is considered plus size here in the U.S. (and I think world wide). So even if you're not a size 20+, to most Americans you're over weight and don't belong on a stage.

But the funny part about it is, people don't take into consideration the woman's body type. For example, most Black and Hispanic women have hips, thighs, and @$$. It doesn't mean that they're fat, it just means that there is a lot more working down there then the average European model. So we have to (sometimes) purchase our pants in a larger size to ensure we get the right fit (but we still have that little extra material in the back of our belt loops). Our hips are Curvy but our waist is small, but that's not something that we can help.

So, with that being said, curvy women are forced to enter plus sized pageants because they're not accepted in the ones for women who're a size 00 to 5. I'm not even sure if women who're a size 6  to 8 are accepted in the supposed "normal" pageants to tell  you the truth.

  6. Yep...they do..or i guess i would say WE do... but ive never been in one myself...

I think there is even a Plus size Pageantry in Thailand...I think..

I remember seeing something about it on Youtube.

  7. Big ladies need love, too.

  8. I don't know, you tell us.

Didn't you place third in Ms. World f****s?

  9. I personally think plus sized women, who in reality are regular sized women, would like to be judged in pageants along with other women, without any special category.  The fashion industry has dubbed them "plus size", whereas most men find some of them to be voluptuous and/or pleasingly plump.

I am partial to all size women, which surprises the dickens out of many, why I do not know.  But I am not about to let Hollywood or Madison Avenue tell me whom I shall find attractive.  Especially if they like me!

    But why do you ask?

  10. Sure they do, and some can hold their own against smaller competitors.

Plus sized is a joke.  Some have remarked that Kate Winslet is too curvy.  Those people are seriously disturbed.

  11. Please that avatar is so not you... Why do you hate feminist so much?  Is it because they make it harder for you to walk the streets? You're a hater!

  12. You look ridiculous in your picture you ought to put some clothes on and don't say i am jealous just because you have no shame.

  13. hope not
