Do police cars have bullet proof windows?

I have been told that so many times in my life but I never really believed it.

Very Rare. It would be too expensive to put bullet proof windows in every squad car.

No.  Its really expensive and heavy.  Its not worth putting it on every squad car.  That type of armor is usually used for famous people or high profile people.  Theres no real point in spending large sums of money and slowing down a cop car so it cant catch speeder just to protect another criminal in the back.  They're law enforcement not combat troops  carrying a movie star.  Its not really nessessary.
