  1. Good question and great topic for debate.  My answer is unsure.  There are many pros to this idea and many cons.  Police walking around in schools not only burdens tax payers further but may in fact give young students more reason to "hate authority" figures.  On the other side of that coin, with all the shootings and other unthinkable acts in our schools something needs to be done.

I can't help but wonder if it would in fact cause more harm than good.  How many would we place in the school at one time?  1?  10?  20?  There are 2,3,4 levels to our schools, obviously we can not put a police officer in each class room, but lets say a student pulled out a gun, the cop rushes in at the sound of disruption is shot the angry student now has two weapons.  This posses another question guns, pepper spray, taser etc. what do we arm them with?

I think if we really want to see a decrease in our behaviors at school is to bring back values and morals (GOD).  When we throw anyway any measure of goodness and purity can we expect anything less?  Any if your not a bliever, you must agree that people believing they will be cast into h**l for their unforgiven sins would scare alot into behaving better?

  2. I wish they were in my kids' schools when they were constantly getting bullied then getting punished for screaming out for help. They apparently disturbed a teacher or something by their screaming when they were yelling for help, and they didn't punish the kid who was beating him up, just him. I yanked him out of school so fast they didn't have time to call a lawyer.

If the principals would do their jobs once in a while they wouldn't need police in their schools.

  3. If the school officials weren't hamstrung by the rules that are in place to protect the " little angels "early in their school years, they could instill a sense of respect for the rules governing behavior. When I was in school, certain offenses drew corporal punishment-and rightly so. I  visited "the board of education", and it made me think twice about acting up in school. Same thing went at home. Having to pick your own switch and then having it used on you will really make you think twice about your behavior. Take the power to discipline away, and what do you expect would happen-when they get to high school you end up with a bunch of " I'm entitled/I'm special "spoiled rotten brats who need police there to keep them in line.

  4. Yes. Especially when a school is filled with a bunch of thugs and punks!

  5. Yes, i believe POLICE belong in schools, maybe they can teach you how to spell :) also, they are needed incase somthing were to happen such as a fight or a shooting, or suspected drugs on the premises...they are there for a reason, to keep people in check
