  1. kcbridgeman77 is right on the money.  Additionally, he provides an excellent source.  One other factor that you need to consider in how "tight" pockets are is the shelf depth.  There's a huge difference between bar tables and home tables.  The shelf depth is how deep the slate extends into the pocket before dropping off.  You might notice that most bar tables have a very shallow shelf.  Therefore, balls that would normally rattle in the pocket on a regulation table have a much greater chance of falling in on a bar table.  The WPA link that was provided above will also describe shelf depth in detail.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  2. Snooker pockets are smaller than regular billiards pockets, but the pockets are the same on a 7, 8, or 9 foot table.

According to the World Pool-Billiard Association, standard pocket measurements for tournament equipment are:

"Corner Pocket Mouth: between 4.5 [11.43 cm] and 4.625 inches [11.75 cm]

Side Pocket Mouth: between 5 [12.7 cm] and 5.125 inches [13.0175 cm]

*The mouth of the side pocket is traditionally ½ inch [1.27 cm] wider than

the mouth of the corner pocket."

  3. not on regulation tables , snooker pockets are smaller   all reg on both tables are standard size
