Do pouches = canned food??

i was wondering... when people say canned food does it mean also that it can be pouches???

Canned food means it's moist food or wet food.   Moist food can come in pouches also.  So the answer to your question could very well be yes.

Dry food is exactly that -- dry food.  Dry food doesn't come in cans.

Generally yes.

I've noticed though that when people talk about canned - they are from the US. People in the UK use pouches.

Interesting huh? Wonder why the US uses mostly canned and the UK pouches are standard.

It varies....but typically or traditionally, pouch foods have been lower quality than canned foods.  However, that may be starting to change.  Wellness now offers pouch food.  Although it doesn't have the exact same ingredients (that I recall) as their canned foods, it's still a good product.

I would think, yes.  "Canned food" means WET food, as opposed to dry food from a box or bag. Used to be all wet food came in cans, hence the description.

Yup, most of the time when we refer to can food, it means food that are not kibbles, (dry), so pouches are then considered wet (can) food. However, there are also semi moist food that comes in pouches and you need to stay away from those. Semi moist food in pouches are sugar laden and has a high quantity of preservatives for a longer shelf life.Semi moist food are just like dry food but they have a higher content of moisture and sugar, so it's chewy instead of soft/dry. When you feed pouch food, make sure it is a complete and balance food and not semi moist treats or food.
