Do ppl care about global warming?

Polor bears were added to the endangered list of animals recently 'cuz of global warming. It seems like this isn't a concern to ppl. I just went to Yosemite and it was amazing how the earth can look, without cities ect. It was beautiful. I dont want to kepp hurting the Earth. How do others feel bout this????

What I feel most strongly about is that doing the right thing is ALSO profitable. Especially for the nimbler, more agile business-minds.

This is a no-brainer for every rational person:

Liberals: Drive a righteously tiny car, live in the dark, kiss bears and hug trees

Conservatives: Find a way to make that Hummer SCRUB the atmosphere of its CO2, invest in lighting technology that outshines the sun with 1 watt while converting waste-plastics into bio-friendly fertilizer, walk your $17,000 Alsatian and rake your meditation garden.

People don't want the earth to disappear, but they're all too lazy. Many people take that into consideration and recycles. More and more people are beginning to do that. Unlike our family, some people knows that the polar ice caps would melt after their death so they just don't worry about it. Their just all lazy and selfish!

not really because in the 1900's people already knew about global warming and not many people cared and now it is almost already too late. If everybody does not drive a car anymore, that can stop global warming, but do you think people would care? NO

I care I love nature.However not every body does.With out an appreciation for our planet these people will continue to ruin it. Like they say (It wont effect me in my life time so why should I care) Well thats why.

Yosemite is an incredible place, isn't it?  And we live on a planet chock full of incredible places.

Perhaps not enough people get out to those kinds of places to experience them for themselves.  Perhaps they don't make the connection between the food on their plate and the environment.  Or the car they drive and the air they breath.

The listing of polar bears has yet to sink in.  I have a feeling it will serve to galvanize many who have been sitting on the sidelines.

Everyone has a line drawn in the sand.  Eventually, something happens that makes you put your foot down and say, "Enough!"  

Business and government is beginning to change the way they do business in regards to global climate change.  I feel hopeful for the future.  Most of that feeling came from my research.  Some people look at the facts and say "that's too gloomy, we're doomed, I can't deal with this!"  Others roll up their sleeves and say, "How can I help?"

Sounds like you're putting your foot down and rolling up your sleeves.

99% of the worlds population does not care. Overpopulation is the root cause of environmental destruction, but is never addressed because it is not "politically correct". China builds a new coal plant every month, and will have 150,000,000 cars on it's roads in the next 10 years. Do they care? Greedy developers in every US city are building on every unprotected open space they can get their hands on. Do they care? Population is increasing exponentially in regions such as the Middle East, India, and other warm weather nations. Do they care? Mexico has a plan for reclaiming the Southwestern US by overpopulating it with their own people. None of them would be caught dead driving a Prius. Do they care?

Global warming is only one possible consequence of rampant population growth. Be "Green" if it makes you feel better. Because without worldwide birth control implemented, it's nothing more than a fashion statement.

I agree with you. The truth of polars bears is that they will be none left in 10yrs in the wild. Thats just one speices. Its sad.

We can all do some things to help. Not running water when brushing your teeth, have showers and of course turn off your tv's properly. These little things help alot.  

The thing is the earth will survive and may re-grow eventually but humans and animals will die.

yes, but for a lot of people the problems dont seem too iminent, and its a lot easier to not 'notice.' this happens with a lot of societies problems....

global warming isn't real!!!!

Here are some facts:

1) If you took every car off every road in the US the temperature would change less than a TENTH OF A DEGREE!

2) People cause 3.5% of temperature change with .4% coming from cars.

3) The polar bear population has gone from 5000 to 25000 in 10 years and for some reason, they are still being put on the threatened list! they can swim!

4) 5 billion dollars a year is wated by the US government to research "climate change"

5) no one has proved why the hole in the ozone layer appeared, so the theory that the extreme cold caused it is just as credible as the theory thet cfcs or whatever caused it.

6) Al Gore shows his audience a slide of CO2 concentrations, and a slide of historical temperatures. But for very good reason he does not combine them in one overlaid slide: Historically, atmospheric CO2, as often as not, increases after warming. This is typical in the campaign of claiming “consensus” to avoid debate (consensus about what being left unspoken or distorted).

less than 20 years ago they were freaking out about the next ice age!!!!

what more wil it take to convince you? why believe what politicians and liberal "scientists" say when you can just look at the science and prove it wrong!?

and just because I am a republican and dont believe in global warming does not mean i am pro litter/ pollution. it means i am pro common sense!

nobody wants to hurt the earth, the debate is whether man is causing global warming or not. The government tell us that we are destroying the planet and we should pay taxes for doing so, yet they are still having thousands of homes built over our countryside, because it makes them money, and all they care about is making money.
