Do pregnant women in prison for life hav a say over who gets their baby?

i asked this question once already but i have a sister that is 6months pregnant and she just got a live sentence and i want her baby. do i have to go to court against people and every thing? i want to know if she can just say that i can have the baby

i'm sure she dose since the baby had nothing to do with her going to prison and shouldn't suffer .i think they will challenge you and make sure you are a fit parent but i think that is cool that you are willing to do that for her .get a attorney and maybe even ask some one that is in charge of the prison good luck i hope you can get the baby

Where is the baby’s father? The father would have to agree to give up his rights in order for you to adopt. I would think that since your kin you would have a good chance of adopting if both biological parents gave up their rights or the rights were terminated by the courts.  If the father is unknown generally there still has to be an attempt to locate him. Sometimes this might be just running an add in the local paper where the father last residency was.

Well ovbiously if she did something to land herself in jail for life, she doesn't have very good judgement and that right should be taken away. If she doesnt know whats best for herself how is she going to be able to decide the best for the baby.  No offense, but yes there will be court troubles.

Yes, she has a say. She can sign rights to you. and you can adopt
