Do prepaid phones from california work in el salvador?

well im goin on a trip soon and i am wondering if i buy a pre-paid phone here in california would it work in el salvador?

Why not buy one when you get there.

All the cellular providers have pre-pay.

Tigo, Claro, Movilstar are a few of the providers all the malls have stoes and phone cards can be bought all over

they are super cheap and most have good plans for calling the U.S.I use Tigo and the last time I was there it was like .10-.15 a minute to call.

Then give the phone away when you leave.
