Do preschool teachers get paid for such days off as Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Christmas Vacation, Spring Vacation...etc, etc, etc? How about Snow Days?

  1. It depends on your school, or the school district, that you are kind of corporated in, the ones that I know of yes, they do!!!


  2. Depends on if they are salaried teachers or not. if not, then generally no. But most full-time teachers aren't by the hour, so it's built into their salary.

  3. Most do not unless they are a licensed teacher through the school system. And, I might add, that most licensed teachers no longer get Columbus Day or Veteran's Day.

  4. It depends on what type of school you work in.  Most private run schools/ "daycare" do budget for so many paid holiday "days" (about 8) per school year, these include Major holidays where most businesses and banks are closed, but that is at the discretion of the school.  If you work within the school system or a lottery funded pre-k you may also have winter and spring break included in paid time off.
