  1. Having never seen that Movie, it's impossible to know the Answer...!!

    In the U.S., there do exist "Country Club" Prisons for the Elite, usually White Collar 'Criminals';

    And, on the other end of the Spectrum, there still exist 'Death-pits' for the very unfortinate...!!

I have not seen the movie, but every prison movie I ever saw was a load of horse manure.  They always want to show innocent inmates or prisoners and evil corrupt guards.  It is simply not true, by even the most fanciful portrayal.  Based on my job I speak from more that a little experience dealing with such matters.  However, like I said I have not seen this particular movie so I can not say, but I am referring to the other movies I have seen.

Private prisons exist in the US not only for criminals,but also for immigration violators.Moneys are taken from Federal and State Budgets, to finance them.The conditions can be even worse than in state prisons, because less money is spent per prisoners,the guards are less trained,not paid as well.Legislators often receive pay offs as consultants to these prisons.
