  1. The word "professional" takes in a lot of territory. Most have something else going for income. It's not like Golf where the top 50 in the field earn a placing and cash. The real big winners in Snooker own their own establishments and that is their job, running their own business.

  2. Most do its not year round on the table

  3. Elite players don't need to have them - they're millionaires. Stephen Hendry has won over £8m for instance.

Obviously, Hendry has been a prolific winner but other top players have earned seven figure amounts:

    Steve Davis: £5.5m

    Ronnie O'Sullivan: £5.2m

    John Higgins: £4.3m

    Mark Williams: £3.6m

    Ken Doherty: £3.1m

Obviously, these figures don't include sponsorship.

EDIT: Obviously, I should stop saying "obviously" so much.

  4. well it all mdepends on your career and how well it takes off. me for instance i run a pool hall as well as play. i have made a living jus playn pool jus depends on how well you can manage the winnings that u make. but most will agree that there is more money to be made gambling then there is on tour ! i have won 2500 bucks in a tourney and then gambled and made 3000 so the statistics are really on the gambling that is followed up by a good tourney ! most pros own their own rooms and or have sponsorships that pay them . but it is a diff scenario for all !

  5. Players like Efren Reyes don't have regular, meaning 8 to 5, jobs.  But they do earn extra income from numerous product indorsements, and of course, they play a lot of private money games.  Remember, these guys are hustlers.
