And do you need a certain minimum amount of land to have a Conservation Easement - as you need a certain minimum for a Farm Assessment?

  1. Taxes are determined by the authority having jurisdiction (city, county, state, etc), ... there are no set rules, it depends on what the councilors/commissioners say. Contact the tax assessor and/or the planning/zoning office about specifics.

    In general, you pay taxes on easements, but you may get a break on a Conservation Easement.
