Question:

Do psychics ever consider this?

When you read someone's mind/thoughts...you're only getting the first version. When people have thoughts..sometimes they .themselves .disagree with their own thoughts and change them. But when a psychic reads your mind...they don't always get the "edited" version. Do you take that into consideration when you read someone's thoughts?

  1. Right; people do change their mind often, and even have several answers for things.  Sometimes there is no good perspective.  I see what I want to see, just like everybody else.  Psychics give the interpretation of thinking that they see, not necessarily what really is.  The mind is a complicated thing.

Have to agree with wushu and the Twilight Zone explanation, because it's true how people think like that - a thought might not really happen.

  2. I don't know I suspect the first version of my thoughts are enough to send them fleeing and not hang around for clarification <eg>.

    Psi

  3. I don't know about reading someone's mind, but if you are at all sensitive you will at least pick up on general attitudes -- whether they like you or not, whether they are being honest or not, if they are fearful of something -- that sort of thing.

That does not include the complexity of their thought process.

Although, if one could tap into that information, it could be useful.

I try not to worry too much about why people think and act  as they do, because it takes up too much energy  and there is no way to really know.

  4. i always wait a minute to see how they change. then the true color of their auras come into view

  5. When I read someone it is not like reading a book or seeing a video of their life.  You can't  get everything they have in their head- past, present, and future- your brain would explode or you would become them.  You can get bits and pieces of their life but not everything.  I get more of what is going on in the present.  I do know psychics that get a lot more then I do, but you can block most stuff if you don't want them getting in your head.  A lot of people try to test psychics by having them read their mind while they are blocking at the same time, it just won't work, at least for me.  I get good results with people, even over the internet if they are not blocking.  Some people you just can't read anything for some reason.  I guess if someone has a good control of their mind they could make you see what ever they want you to see.  One has to always be aware of the psychic vampire types out their, they like to play that type of game on people.

  6. I don't get just the edited version. If they're having an argument with themselves, I feel it. I can feel confusion, can feel anger, and when that happens, I usually get two different things and only find out why after I tell the person what I'm getting.

But yes, I also emotions that go with it, so I can feel the confusion or self loathing or whathaveyou that goes with the thoughts too.

    EDIT:

Someone judged you for something they picked up while she wasn't giving you an actual reading?? I wouldn't ask her for a reading then! lol Seriously... that's where morals and ethics comes in. You know, where the person behind the ability comes in. They're heart. Every psychically gifted friend I have would never do this. If I pick up someone else's thoughts I don't tell them unless they ask me. I know how to release what I pick up and ignore it. Private thoughts are just that--private and I don't have the right to intrude on them. Sad though that ARE people out there who will abusve this sort of thing.

  7. I thought they just read memories.. Things that they know are true, and that can never really change x

  8. i don't know, but they had an old b&w twilight zone where this happened. A banker got hit on the head and for one day he could hear peoples thoughts. He heard one of the clerks planning to rob the bank on his lunch break and he acted on it. After the police left and he got reprimanded the guy came up to him and said that he was always thinking of ways to rob the bank, but he would never have done it.

I guess if you can read thoughts you need to be careful, because who knows where someones thoughts may go.

  9. You do bring up a good point. The idea of reading someone's mind is a bit like reading a TV. There are a lot of things on a lot of channels (and don't forget the commercials). The human mind is a somewhat messy place with a lot of reactions going on. The human concentration span can be very short, and new stimulus is constantly pouring in. Even if I could develop the ability to read minds, I'm not sure I could stand it. Besides, I would think it was a gross violation of privacy.
