when you are talking to them or do they hear a tone in your voice which they would question to realize you have mental problems. I want to know how can a doc diagnose you just by sitting on a couch/chair and talking. what if you having a bad day, or don't everybody goes through mood swings, what if you visit the doc the same day your dog got sick or anything. my question is how do they know what we feel unless we tell them. Is a Physic all mind games with patient and what if the patient already hip to the games.

  1. it depends, some go on how much insurance coverage you have, if your wealthy, or how gullible you are.

  2. Diagnosis is more than talking...tests are given.  Psychologists are trained to interpret things, including non-verbal body gestures.  (psychologist)

  3. They will study your body language, they will also ask you specific questions and your tone - there's eye contact, are you sitting still or moving around.  There are many ways they "assess" you.

    Mostly they listen.  Then respond.

My thoughts on them is sort of pointless, but that is just me.  They do give you someone to talk to, and ideas to assist you - in some cases medicine, that is usually administered when they don't know what else to do, or they think you are at risk.
