Do quick oats have the same nutritional value as rolled oats?

Just wondering, I love them both, but rolled oats are horrible microwaved and I just dont have the time before work at 5 AM in the morning.

  1. The more any food is processed, the less nutritional value it will have.  Microwaving any food also decreases the nutritional value.  

    Have you tried any of the muffin recipes with applesauce instead of sugar?  Of course that would be the difference of a cold breakfast versus a hot one.  They are delicious and easy to eat on the run.


  2. On my diet I can not have instant oats, but can have quick oats or old fashion oats.  

    I think the old fashion oats is the same as the rolled oats.

    I soak the old fashion oats in water a few minutes then mix in with egg whites (lightly beat to foamy) with cinnamon, maple flavoring, butter flavoring.  

    I cook these in a non-stick skillet like pancakes.

    I like the old fashion oats, because the others get too mushy.
