In sociology, does the term nuclear family also apply to two opposite s*x parents and adopted children? Or do the children have to be biological to be considered a nuclear family?

  1. Mother , father , children .    adopted , doesn't matter.

  2. What I understand to be the definition of a nuclear family is one, or a couple, of providers and a number of dependents.

    So, yes.

  3. It depends, if the adopted child was also a member of the extended version.

  4. I would hope so. I am an adopted child from a married couple with one biological child plus myself.
