Do "Raise the Minimum Wage" devotees realize that increasing the cost of something decreases demand for it?

Just wondering if the guilt of costing unskilled people their jobs is taken into account when they pat each other on the back when they pass an increase in the minimum wage.

  1. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for.  Some people look at their hourly wage this way.  They have a $6 speed, a $7 dollar speed, and an $8 dollar speed.  If you can't afford to drive to work on your pay, what is the point of working?  Pride doesn't feed your children.


  2. the leaders know, the followers actually think that it increases the buying power of those workers rather than just lowering the value of the dollars that they are paid (and consequently the dollars that everyone else is paid).

    Society has decided that slavery is wrong.

    Economic slavery is no better.

    Saving a few pennies at the cost of someone working at a wage that you can't live on is unethical.

  7. employers with small business decrease employees , decrease benifits and hours. having a small franchise i can tell you its a fact.
