  1. All weather/ all seasons tires are actually not very good for winter driving especially if you are in an area that gets lots of snow. For winter driving in those conditions snow tires are better. All seasons tires are raelly only good for dry summer/fall days, even not very good in rainy weather, you need good tires with good tread pattern

  2. I have used them and never had trouble

  3. All weather, all seasons.  They eliminated the need to switch to snow tires in most locations.

  4. All weather tires are designed to "drain" water away from the tread of the tire to give you better traction.  This type of tire is also designed to be used year around for safer driving in all kinds of weather.  It cannot be relied on as a "snow tire", however.  Where chains are required, this tire does not act as a substitute.

  5. year round tire good all year but not like a winter tire specially made for snow and ice

  6. Winter tires are not like All-Season tires. Winter tires have special rubber compounds designed to improve traction, handling and braking in all cold weather conditions, not just ice and snow.

Winter Tires are designed to deliver safety and control in snow, ice, and cold weather conditions. Many people think that all-season tires can deliver this same performance, but this is not true. The superior traction that winter tires deliver, as much as a 25 to 50 percent increase over all-season tires, can very well be the margin you need to stop in time or turn to avoid trouble. The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA).

Meanwhile, all-season tires use very different compounds. These compounds are "averaged" to deliver better wear and good traction in a wide variety of conditions. However, the trade-off is a decrease in traction in conditions below 45 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the point where all-season tire compounds begin to harden and lose traction. These tires must use denser compounds in order to deliver better wear. Micro pore or comparable technology is not suitable for these designs. For the same reason, no soft stud material is built into these tires.

  7. all weather tires are just what the name says. They are good in all seasons as long as the tread is good.
