Do "first day issue stamps" fetch money?

I have a quite a few "First Day Issue" stamps which were released between 1956 and 1973. Not sure how to go about selling them. Any suggestions?

  1. I have a bunch too.

    I had them evaluated at several stamp shops.

    99% of them now go on my postage.
